Having a Child

There are several requirements the player must have accomplished before they can have a child. The player must currently be married to one of the romanceable NPCs. Players are able to have children with their partner regardless of their or their partner's gender. The player's house must be upgraded to tier three, as this allows for the child's room to be present on the second floor after they arrive. The player and their partner must have reached specific dialogue cycles before their partner will express interest in having a child.

Children are optional, the player has the option to tell their partner "no". The player is only able to have one child with their partner ? ] . Kids do not grow past the toddler stage ? ] .

If the player is ready to have a child, they need to head to the Wishing Well to wish for their child. Once the player has selected the option at the Wishing Well to have a child, a short cutscene will play with their spouse to let the player know preparations are being made for the baby. After this, the player can return to their house to find the kids room and begin collecting items to care for and grow their child.

Customization

When entering their house after wishing for a child, the player is given a prompt to name their child and choose the name their child will call them.

Quests

After having a child, certain quests become available and can be started by checking on the baby. Quests will appear every other day. When a new quest is ready an indicator will appear over the baby's head. These quests involve collecting items crafted at the Nursery Crafting Table. After ten quests, the baby will grow into a toddler.

Mechanics

Baby

When the child is a baby, the player can interact with the baby in their crib to feed them, change their diaper, or give them a kiss. Changing their diaper will deal five damage to the player ? ] . The baby can only be fed and changed once a day. Completing these options improves the player's relationship with their child. To move on from the baby stage, the player must complete the quests above for collecting Baby Bottles, Diapers, and other items crafted at the Nursery Crafting Table.

Toddler

Once the player has completed all "Growing a Family" quests checking on the baby will display text that they are ready to grow. The next day a cutscene will play and the player can customize their toddler's appearance ? ] .

Toddlers spend time with Pod and Topi in Sun Haven. The player can interact with them and give them gifts. Toddlers do not need to be cared for and do not have quests for food and diapers like they did as a baby. Occasionally toddlers will provide quests requesting random tools.
