Defense
Defense is one of the player's stats. Damage taken is calculated as (attack - defense / 8) * 100 / (100 + defense / 1.5)
. For example, at 50 defense, the player will reduce incoming damage by 6.25, then reduce the remaining amount by 25%.
Some sources of damage ignore defense, including:
- Reflected damage from Magma Bug shield.
- Falling off a platform out of the map.
Skills
May stats in the game can be further enhanced by various skills in the players skill tree.
- Extra Plating - Increases your armor by 2/4/6.
- Brawler - Increases damage dealt with swords by 5/10/15% and grants 2/4/6 bonus armor for 6 seconds after striking an enemy with a sword.
- Fortified - Increases armor by 3 and an additional 1/2/3 armor for each nearby enemy.
- Leadership - Unlock the Aegis spell. Increases armor of all players on the same map by 4/7/10 and heals them for 0.1/0.2/0.3 HP every second. Aegis lasts for 5 Minutes, Costs 40/35/30 Mana
Consumables
Permanent Increase
The core player stats of the game can be permanently increased by consuming food, potions, or a similar consumable. Food items can only provide this increase for the first 100 times the player has consumed that specific food item. After the 100th time the player has consumed that food item, it no longer provides an increase to the players stats.
Buffs
Buffs do not permanently increase this particular stat for the player, instead they provide a significant boost for a fixed duration of time.
