Hardwood is a resource used in many crafting recipes.

Initially there are a few hardwood trees present on the Sun Haven Farm right after starting the game. These will prevent the players initially from building however they please. These can however be removed and will not respawn. Players who seek more Hardwood can find plenty in the West Forest and the East Forest. These nodes will also periodically respawn after being logged.

There is technically no minimum level of axe strength the player must have in order to chop hardwood trees and stumps on their Sun Haven Farm, however, the trees and stumps regenerate health. A single player must have a strong enough axe that can outpace the trees regeneration, or have more than one player chopping away at the same tree.
