Feeding the Snaccoons
Snaccoon is a large, sleeping raccoon-like animal that is blocking a pathway, chest, or just lying in an inconvenient spot. The interactive map shows the locations of the snaccoons that show up in cities.
After the player gives a snaccoon their requested food or items, snaccoons will reward the player with a decorative plushie and will move out of the way (if they are blocking something). Most Snaccoon fulfillment goals aren't required to progress with the story. A player can easily ignore them the entire season but will lose out on the chance to collect their plushy until the snaccoon returns in the same season of the next year. Requested items do not need to be turned in all at once. However, not clearing the partially completed Snaccoon by the end of the season will result in the items being lost.
There are three types of Snaccoons.
- Essential Snaccoons do not respawn/despawn between seasons. This includes the Demon Snaccoon blocking the way to Withergate and the Hungry Snaccoon blocking the way to the Wishing Well.
- Seasonal Snaccoons rotate when the seasons change. These Snaccoons have their own unique locations, requested items, appearances, and attire.
- Farm Animal Snaccoons, which can be unlocked by acquiring Rank 3 of Friend of the Forest and reading the final letter that is sent to the player. They are then purchasable at Kitty's Animal Store.
Snaccoon requests vary but can include things like seasonal crops, forageable items, tools, seasonal fish, monster drops, and player made items (like
). Each season of following years, Snaccoons will respawn in the same spot during the same seasons, request the same items, and reward the same items. The player can easily plan ahead and keep enough materials tucked away in a chest to immediately clear the Snaccoons.Locations
