Thornmail is a passive skill that reflects damage back to enemies. Somewhat unintuitively, this also applies to ranged attacks such as the bananas thrown by Chimchuck, or when dodging attacks via Sidestep. The damage is also reduced by Defense twice - once by the player before taking the damage, and again by the monster as it is reflected.
