Confronting Dynus
This quest revolves around Dynus and how the player wants to defeat him. The player can choose to complete several of the altars in the altar room, to appease him, or they can fight him. Both options have the same quest end reward. If the player chooses to fight Dynus, they can still opt to finish the altars afterward for the altar rewards. The player is able to fight Dynus more than once, to collect all of the quest rewards, however they can only complete the altars once.
Main quests are a series of quests the player must accomplish in order to complete the core narrative of the game. These are quests that tell the adventure of the player and their journey, as they travel through the world of Sun Haven. These quests often have many steps to them, with each step having its own requirement to proceed to the next.

Walkthrough
The Altar Room
After speaking with Darius as part of The Kings Favor, the player should already be in Withergate Castle. The altar room is through two sets of northern doors. Once the player enters the altar room, they will have a conversation with the Altar Keeper.
The Moon Dragon
The player should head into Dynus' lair, through the door on the northern wall of the altar room.
If the player chooses to barter with Dynus, he will allow the player to leave his den.
Confronting Dynus
It's time to choose whether to risk fighting Dynus or to appease him with an offering by completing at least seven altars in the altar room.
Fighting Dynus is a difficult fight, and the game will warn you before you choose to proceed that you should be prepared. Dynus has 90,000 health. If the player chooses this path and wins, a Dynus will say:
This can't be... it must be a trick. I am the most powerful being in the world! Yet...
... You are mightier than expected. And for such a tiny creature... XX, you fight with the tenacity of a dragon. Perhaps I underestimated you.
However... the darkness spell drains my energy. Were we to fight at my full power, surely you would bow to me then.
Lucky for you... I cannot release my spell of darkness, so for now I must offer a stalemate.
I will agree to cease the spread of my darkness... but I will keep my crystal hoard to maintain the darkness over Withergate.
I welcome a rematch with you, little warrior. Come fight me again if you crave the sport... but know that I won't be holding back... All your efforts... for those people? This is what makes you weak... you hold sentiment where there should be ambition.
Still, you have proven yourself loyal and capable. Your help could be instrumental... in future endeavors.
If the price of your loyalty means stopping my darkness, then I will respect your foolish request... for now.
I will keep my crystal hoard to maintain the darkness... only over Withergate.
I underestimated your determination, XX... You would make a brilliant ruler for Sun Haven. What a shame you would rather be... a pointless hero."
Once the player has either defeated Dynus, or appeased him, the player will complete the quest, earn their rewards, and Dynus will agree to pull back the darkness.
