Character Creation
When beginning a new game in Sun Haven, the player gets to create their very own farmer! Choices made in the character creator don't significantly impact the story or how to to play Sun Haven. There is not a gender option, the player can make their character more feminine or masculine by the physical appearance choices.
The player can change most of these options once they have rebuilt the Salon in Sun Haven.
Name
The player must choose a name before they can complete the character creator. The name field accepts most characters (spaces, upper/lowercase letters, numbers and various symbols). This field is limited to 18 characters and accepts copied text (Ctrl+V).
Name cannot be changed once it is input, unlike many of the other customizable options.
Race
There are currently seven races for the player to choose from; each race has a different perk they start with. Even with these perks, the races currently do not provide any substantial differences in gameplay.
Physical Appearance
The character creation screen has a variety of customization options. There are 7 general base categories: race, body, hair, eyes, face, chest (clothing) and pants. The race the player chooses will change some of these options.
Professions
There are 10 available professions to start with, each granting a different set of bonus starting items. The professions have no long-term effects on the player, it just changes what extra items the player starts the game with. Regardless of what the player chooses, they are able to participate in all aspects of the game.

Birthday
The player must select a birthday to begin the game. When the player clicks on the "birthday" button on the left side, a calendar will appear in the middle. The player can change months by selecting the yellow arrows at the top of the screen. When they have selected their birthday, a yellow border will appear around the number. The player must hit the "confirm" button at the bottom to lock in that birthday date. They are able to change the birthday until the player is created, but to ensure the newest date is selected the player should always "confirm" the date by clicking the botton at the bottom of the calendar.
The player will know if this is done correctly, if the error message on the right side disappears.
Skipping the Introduction
If the player chooses to skip the introduction cut-scene, they are given a unique keepsake. There is no other way to obtain this unique keepsake in the game, but the player is able to buy the various choices from the train scene at different vendors.
