Occupation
Guardian Deity
Nivara is the World Dragon and acts as the Guardian Deity of Nel'Vari. From her sanctuary, she watches over, assists, and blesses the Elves living there. As the World Dragon, Nivara's duty is to nurture and maintain the balance of nature and harmony.
Once, the World Dragon was the Guardian of a distant town of misguided Elementals. After distributing her wisdom among the inhabitants, she left and wandered the world for some time, eventually discovering the Elves of Nel'Vari. Impressed by the great bounty they had brought upon the land and surrounding forests, she chose to settle there as their Guardian and bring them under her spiritual guidance.
Schedule
Nivara currently has only one schedule that they follow, regardless if it is sunny or rainy.

Little sprout, what brings you to my sanctuary?
Player:
Tell me more about what you do here.
:
Certainly. When I first discovered the Elves, they were a capable people... though they were spiritually lost. I made it my responsibility to maintain nature's balance wherever I go, so when I saw the Elves in need, I had no choice but to help. Over time I witnessed their impact on the forest here. Their efforts go further than they know, as nature is a cascade of cause and effect. So I remain in my sanctuary here to guide the cascade and maintain harmony.

Player:
Don't you think you could help elsewhere, too? -1 Points
:

Your intentions are pure, but your knowledge is limited. I have chosen this place because of the Elves' immense influence on this part of the world. Trust that I am in tune with the world at large, and there are forces other than myself maintaining balance in nature.
Player:
With your guidance, it's no wonder the forest is so bountiful. +2 Points
:

This forest is certainly a special place. I have chosen it because of the Elves' immense influence on this part of the world. They deserve every bit as much credit as I do.
Player:
I want to know more about you.
:
There is much to tell, little sprout. Much more than can reasonably be told... I was born here, hatched in the branches of the Grand Tree. I grew quickly, and realized that I wished to preserve and protect the natural order of the world. I want to nurture life, though I also want life to go along its natural course with as little interference as possible. Do you understand what I mean?
Player:
I think I get it, Nivara.
:
I thought you would, little sprout. Elios has always wanted to guide life more directly, to bring one's potential out right away. That is his way. I prefer to let life bring its own potential out. Our differences do not make us opposed to one another. We have different ways of seeing the world, which makes us valuable allies when we work together.
Player:
What do you mean 'interference'?
:
I thought you might ask that, little sprout. Elios has always wanted to guide life more directly, to bring one's potential out right away. That is his way. I prefer to let life bring its own potential out. Our differences do not make us opposed to one another. We have different ways of seeing the world, which makes us valuable allies when we work together.

Cycle 2
:
Do you seek guidance, or just a friendly talk?
Player:
Who was your best pupil?
:
I'm not sure how to answer that, little sprout. I've mentored many through the ages. Never has the thought of one being better than the other entered my mind.
Player:
Was it me? -1 Points
:
I would caution feeding your ego too much, [Player]. One may end up like Dynus if such self-importance is left unchecked.
Player:
So... they're all the best? +2 Points
:
That is one way of looking at it. A very good way, in fact. Let us consider it the answer to your question, little sprout.
Player:
Was Gorwin your pupil?
:
He was. Much like you, in fact. Though it was a very long time ago. I still remember the young Elf who sat in my sanctuary, asking me endless questions. He's old now, but I still see that same twinkle of youth in his eyes.
Player:
Was he a good pupil?
:
He was always eager to learn. He still is. You could learn much from how Gorwin perceives the world.
Player:
He must have learned much from you.
:

Cycle 3
:
Have you practiced your skills and meditated yet today, [Player]?
Player:
Do you think Dynus could be redeemed?
:
I wondered when you would ask me about Dynus. As for your question, I do believe he can be redeemed. There is no one who is incapable of change, little sprout. Elios and myself had much to learn at one time. Dynus, for all the power he has obtained, still does.
Player:
I think everyone is capable of changing, too. +2 Points
:
I am glad you think so. It is a good way of looking at the world, and the people who live within in.
Player:
I'll make Dynus see the error of his ways. +2 Points
:
You speak with confidence, little sprout. I do not doubt your words.
Player:
What's your most important lesson?
:
My most important lesson? Be kind to others.
Player:
That's... a really simple lesson.
:
Does it need to be complex? Kindness is the root of all good things, [Player]. No matter who you meet or what you do, keep a kind heart. Everything else will follow much easier.
Player:
It's simple, but it makes sense.

Cycle 4
:
Stay awhile, [Player], and listen.
Player:
What do you think of Sun Haven and Nel'Vari being friends?
:
Such a thing would be a wonderful development. Elios and I have agreed on this for a very long time. However, where he believes that the people of Sun Haven have been ready to meet Nel'Vari for a great while now, I have been less certain. I'm unsure if the Nel'Varians are fully prepared for the outside world. I have not not pushed to make a union occur the way that Elios has.
Player:
I think Elios is right. +2 Points
:
He may be, little sprout. I am wise, but I am not all-knowing. Perhaps Elios is right, and I worry for nothing.
Player:
I think you're right, Nivara. +2 Points
:
I will never know if I am truly right or not. I let my best judgment guide me. Just as you and all other wise things do.
Player:
Tell me about your relationship with Dynus.
:
Dynus is very dear to me. He has his own way of looking at the world, and I try to understand his perspective. It is not easy, but I do not have it in myself to see him as a villain. Only... that he has yet to grow. He forged his own view of the world at a young age. Elios and I have much responsibility to bear for that.
Player:
You and Elios?
:
The three of us were once young dragons. We were powerful even as hatchlings, and we grew much faster than normal dragons. So we assumed a leadership position over our draconic flock. ...It is a very long story, [Player]. Dynus was the most impressionable and passionate between the three of us. Even if it's only in hindsight, Elios and I should have worked harder to temper Dynus. I consider it our failure.
Player:
Wait... you and Elios? But how?!

Cycle 5
:
It is good to see you again, [Player]. I am happy to watch you as you continue to grow.
Player:
Are we friends, Nivara?
:
Why wouldn't we be, little sprout? I count all in Nel'Vari as my friends. You are no different. You are my student and my dear friend.
Player:
You're my friend too, Nivara. +2 Points
:
I am honored that you think so, [Player]. After all, you are special... just like everyone else. Nivara chuckles to herself. +2 Points
Player:
So I'm not special?
:
Of course you are. You're special... just like everyone else. Nivara chuckles to herself. +2 Points
Player:
What is your relationship with Elios like?
:
Elios is wise and powerful, and full of pride. We are much the same in those ways. His pride is for his people, just as mine is. We differ, however, in that Elios has always preferred a more direct approach to helping his pupils grow. It is something that he has struggled with in the past... though I can not judge him, for I also had my own struggles with my methods. Neither of us was perfect, [Player]. We are much wiser today than we were in our younger years, and we remain strong friends.
Player:
Elios and you, not perfect?
:
Is that so hard to believe, [Player]? All trees begin as seeds. Guardian dragons are no different.
Player:
I had no idea your history was so... storied.
:
There is much to tell, but now is perhaps not the time. I believe you're capable of discovering tales of my history, if it truly interests you.

Trivia
- Despite her status as a Dragon - one of the most powerful beings on the planet - Nivara is quite humble, openly expressing her admiration of the Elves and their progress in Nel'Vari.
- She considers Elios a long-time ally, claiming both have learned much from the other.
- Nivara indicates she will be happy to pass Nel'Vari on to Gorwin and the Elves someday. This may imply she eventually intends to leave the town and travel to new lands that need her help, as she did before.
