Mariam is a seaweed amari who, despite her deceptively cute and jovial appearance, is incredibly irate towards the player. She seems obsessed with the Darkness and its presence in Brinestone Deeps, and becomes angry at the player when she suspects they might have done something to it. She hangs out at the southwestern part of town near the entrance to Karish's Hideout.
Mariam has lengthy, wild seaweed hair and wears a purple starfish as a head adornment. She has long, finned ears, green skin, and large, circular eyes that are partially covered by her hair. She wears a purple one-shoulder dress that appears to be slightly tattered.
Schedule
Mariam currently has only one schedule that she follows, regardless if it is sunny or rainy.

Dialogue
Introduction
When speaking to Mariam for the first time in a new game:
|
Where'd all the darkness go?! Where did It's servants go??
|
Player:
|
Um, hi. Are you lost?
|
|
Grr, get away! Don't touch me! Stinky dry-lander, I've got my eyes on you! *The strange Amari girl gives you a deeply nasty glare... You decide it's best to quickly back away.*
|
General Dialogue
General non-conversational dialogue between Mariam and the player. If there is a token at the end of the dialogue, it means the player can only see that dialogue under those conditions.

:
"O'aj'loza's mark was in this town. I can smell it! I'm gonna find it! Out of my way, dry-lander! "

:
"The Darkness... Where is it? Where?! "

:
"You smell weird, stinky dry-lander! Like Darkness... But also other things... Like dragon. I HATE dragons! Grr... "

:
"I better not have come out here for nothing. If you took the Darkness away, I'm going to be REALLY mad! "

:
"Grr. Darkness... Where are you... I'm waiting... "

How, exactly, do I "smell" like darkness?
|
:
|
Darkness has a smell. I can smell it, so I help it. Then the Darkness gives me things in exchange, like POWER and other STUFF. Why do you smell like Darkness?? You don't even LIKE it, do you? What makes you so special!
|
Player:
|
I'm not sure why I'd smell like darkness...

I smell lots of stupid power inside you. How come you get to be full of power? Stupid, stinky dry-lander! Stupid, and stinky!

Player:

...Yeah, you're bad at lying. Stinky dry-lander. I'll get my revenge on you! I swear it!
